I've been in school for over a month now and im thinking of dropping my JROTC class. The teachers of the class only like the guys or girls that talk a lot even though they arent very good students. Ive also heard that this class doesnt benefit you much. If that is true please tell me. Instead im thinking of taking band. I played in band throughout middle school and the band director at my school really wants me to join. Please help me on my decision. Thanks.

You can get into WP without JROTC so I'd encourage you to follow your passion.

If you attain a high level leadership position in JROTC it can be huge. If you are simply a member it won't do very much.

It's fairly early to quit, ever try to speak up more in class? Even just being in JROTC at all you will probably achieve some leadership eventually. I would say give it some time.

Also the jrotc instructors at my school were key into getting accepted. They can be really helpful in the process especially if one is a grad. I would say talk to them about your plan to get into WP. The instructors at my school ended up more as mentors than just teachers.

Last year there was a colonel in charge of the class but he retired. Ill try speaking up more in class. Thanks everyone
