As some of you may know, I was recently in Dublin for 10 days. During that time, I walked past what has got to be one of the most impressive displays of artistic talent I have ever witnessed first-hand.

To begin, permit me to introduce the artist:

Yep. Typical hippie, but the man could DRAW!

Proof:

Here is what he was working off of. It's an 8x10 photograph:

The following show the progression of work over the next 10 days. Sadly, I was unable to see the fully-completed work. It was drawn entirely in chalk.

The closest I got to seeing the finished work:

His little change trays were LOADED, and I helped. He deserves it, if you ask me. :thumb:

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Aw, hell. It rained all week!

Each night, he covered it with a tarp and 8-10 traffic cones.

Interesting to see the picture take shape. Is this typical of Dublin?

It's the only one I saw as I walked all over.

Still, Europe is known for being a magnet for the artistically-inclined. Go to any cathedral and you'll find a handful of people somewhere making pencil sketches of it.

Z,

You have any more ways of making us jealous and rubbing it in that you were in Ireland for 10 days

Yep. About 450 more, in fact. :thumb:

But those pics will have to wait until later.

Spoken by one who just returned from a cruise!

Phenomenal, Zap! Really, really neat. Ireland is top on my places to visit - my grandfather emigrated under a nun's skirt at the age of 10. Always wanted to go visit the relatives.
