Everything must be submitted by February 1stFor all of the information I have to request from someone else, transcript, recommendations, etc., do those all need to be completed by the end of the day February 1st or just requested?
Needs to be submitted before midnight today.
I guess that I won't be able to submit my application. It is completely my fault, but what happened was that I only found out on Friday that I received a nomination, and then I looked at my application and realized what the due date was. I didn't really think that I was going to go through with the application, hence my lateness. At least I'll learn from this mistake. One of the most challenging issues with SA applications, is getting others to do their part. Teacher recommendations, transcripts, and other items must be asked for early and tended by the applicant. These items can often become the "Critical Path" for the application.
OK so things happen sometimes. You can write your essays and submit your resume tonight.. The transcript part and activities verification is not time consuming for the USMMA. Can you get on the phone and email and contact a school principal. vice-principal, heck or even superintendent's office tomorrow until you get someone who can do it or direct a guidance counselor to assist you.I guess that I won't be able to submit my application. Can you email your teachers tonight and follow up with a call in the morning? In sort of the same boat. Received a nom on Thursday night. I have everything submitted except for the science and English evaluations as those are still pending.
i feel you. The counselors barely helped in anything and were really annoying and unclear for the application process. Anytime I asked for help they were like check the manual and I did to find nothing. For all of the information I have to request from someone else, transcript, recommendations, etc., do those all need to be completed by the end of the day February 1st or just requested?
My graduating senior applied for 3 service academies thusfar, and this is the only one riddled with disclarity, technical errors, and unhelpful responses.i feel you. My son is applying to 4 SAs this cycle and USMMA is the academy he has the best and most often effective communication with. Perhaps it depends on which admissions counselor you get.Last cycle our DS applied for 4 SA’s. USMMA turned out to be the least of the four in terms of effective communication. But, part of the process is finding a way. Make a hole. Breach that gap.
I am sad for OP if this ends here. Those of us on the forum tend to become invested.
One of the reading assignments our DS had as a plebe was ‘’Message to Garcia “. No need to explain. Read the essay. It speaks for itself as it should . Over leave he brought it back to his student council advisor and shared it. And he discussed it with current student council members as a guest speaker.
The message in that essay would serve the OP and others well. Well heck, it would serve us all well.
fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
Go to the website and figure out who the counselor is for your state or region. Their contact info will be there. It works that way for all of the academies. If you can’t find it, look for the phone number for admissions and call them, they will be able tell you. Good luck.I don't think I was ever assigned a counselor....
