I recently submitted my EA at the beginning of Oct. and have a few questions as far as the timeline. I was wondering if the usual wait for a decision ends up being closer to the Dec. deadline? How long does it take to be contacted to schedule DoDMERB? Is every applicant contacted for interviews?

I am surprised you have not been contacted by DODMERB if your application is complete. I would reach out to your admission counselor about that one. My DS heard by Thanksgiving when he tried for EA. He did not get in but still had an answer over Thanksgiving break. Can't help with the interviews because they just implemented that last year.
I would check your junk mail, my daughters DODMERB request went to that box. When she applied EA last year, she was sent an email from DODMERB in late November and completed it in early December. She was notified December 21 by email that her application was deferred to regular admission. Those applicants that received an actual appointment for EA were usually notified by AO or by a coach by phone, and these were just rolling admissions.

Last year when my DD went through the process, we learned that CGA tended to wait later on triggering DODMERB exams; our theory was that it was cost-effective for those applicants that were applying to other academies and ROTC programs to have the initial expense from those places t instead CGA. However, back in the 2020 summer I read that due to the Covid-restrictions and availability to get the exams that CGA was starting the process sooner. Please reach out to your admission officer, they are your first point of contact.
