EA selection percentage prediction

DS's stats are (as I recall)

Major - Technical (CS)

GPA 3.3

PFA - 98

AFOQT AA- 90

ACT - 31

Top Third Ranking

On scholarship

I've been keeping pretty quite, but I guess I'll throw out my stats.

Major: Non-Tech
cGPA: 3.8
PFA: 96
ACT: 28 (My AFOQT score equated to this)
Comm. Ranking: Top third
Non-rated board.

We'll see what happens.

undflyboy, your stats look great! The only thing that concerns me is the non tech/ non rated aspect. You will be the one to watch to see how the rated board twist affects an outstanding non rated cadet like yourself. Good Luck!

Pretty much what I was told. If they dip into the the non-tech/non-rated pool I'll be competitive.

"To my recollection my commander rack and stacks according to GPA, Leadership skills (either in ROTC or outside), PFA and SAT scores."

Interesting. So basically those components count twice in ones score. And I know ECs outside of ROTC could help, but I thought AAS couldn't help your score.

AAS can't count officially, because then people might feel coerced into having to join. But it shows leadership, dedication, and gives every single candidate for entry face time with every cadre member in their respective dets and with many of the POC. I had my first real one on one conversation with our Commander through joining AAS and have had several from then on because of it. I actually think almost all of the top 300 and a good number of the 400 positions are held by AAS members. Not because they are in AAS, but because those are the type of cadets that are attracted to the organization.

Of course, there are plenty of other ways to demonstrate your good qualities to the cadre. Being in AAS really is just meant to help you to improve in all other aspects of ROTC, but there are AAS members in the top 1/3 and in the bottom. So yes it can help your package a little, but not by much if your lacking in other areas.

Major: Tech
cGPA: above 3.1 (idk exactly, it's increased due to DE credits)
PFA: 95
AFOQT: 87 - AA (idk if this is higher than my 1900 SAT)
Comm. Ranking: Top third
Non-rated board.

We do have many sub 3.0 cadets going up for EAs this semester, mostly Tech, but some non-Tech. Last year some cadets with Tech majors and ~2.6 cgpa's got EAs, it'll be interesting to see if it happens again this year. I really hope so b/c there are some really great cadets with slightly better gpas but not by much.

Okay I'll post my stats too:

Major: Mechanical Engineering (going Tech)
GPA: 4.0
PFA: 98
AFOQT-AA: 88
SAT: 1400/1600 or 2110/2400
I don't know my commander's ranking, hoping top third.

Just can't wait to know what's up...I have my midterm counseling on Tuesday so hopefully there will be more information by then! I'm kind of worried for my non-tech friends.

Wow, 4.0? Congrats man, you have to know that EA's yours already. I feel like I really should be OK anyways, but I do feel pretty worried for some good buddies too.

Thanks!! And I totally agree with what you said about AAS. It doesn't directly affect anything, but it definitely shows commitment and dedication and helps you to improve in other aspects of ROTC. And the best cadets are all in AAS. It is also awesome for getting to know POC really well. Joining AAS was probably the best decision I made when I joined ROTC :). So it indirectly helps. Our wing jobs probably count into the commanders ranking too, although cadet wings in different dets are set up differently, so it's hard to equate different wing jobs.

What's so funny is that I've been missing a filter from between my brain and my mouth for some time now.

Apparently somewhere along the line I've seemed to misplaced the filter that goes between my brain and my keyboard fingers....

Don't you feel lucky???

May all your teams be victorious today!

Hope my teams wins too! My UK Wildcats are facing the number 1 seed and undefeated Wichita State team. Come on upset! My home state UT Vols are facing this years Cinderella team, Mercer!

My DS stats

Tech major- computer science
Gpa 3.6
Pfa 93. ( what the heck? It was 96 last year!)
Act. 33
On scholarship

I'm pretty nervous for him!

Honest opinion on how these scores look:

CGPA: 3.15
PFA: 96.6
AFOQT: failed (bad, I know)
Commanders ranking: top 5 out of 28

What you have going for is that your commanders ranking is worth 40% and if your commander's ranking is 5 out of 28 that would work out to an 8.39 for that portion of the equation. That would be ~ the same as being ranked 11/12 out of 67 at ERAU.

No doubt over 50 cadets at ERAU would love to have that score for a commanders ranking ( worth 40%) ......
