Early Action Admission

No white envelope here yet...

Stalking the mail carrier isn't a federal crime, is it?

It would be so sad if my darling son does get in and I'm in the clink awaiting charges! Just kidding, of course!

We participated in a similar chat session last evening. They indicated that they had sent out 100 responses to EA applications last monday. They also stated that not all of the responses were acceptances. Further, they said they had received over 700 ea applications, and were responding in the order received. Therefore I would anticipate that even if you don't receive an acceptance in the mail this week or next, it doesn't mean that you won't receive one later. Additionally, while you are waiting for the mail, remember that a letter from the USCGA is not necessarily an acceptance!

Has anyone gotten confirmation that their completed application package has been received?

I haven't but I was at the Academy a week ago and asked the admissions office if they had received my completed application. They said that they had received it but not to expect the login page to "gray out." She didn't mention anything about a letter. I am sure that they are so overwhelmed with acceptances and deferals that they are not going to send out letters of receipt. Good Luck to everyone!

I really wish that I handed in my packet earlier-I could be finding out today.

Darling son just got a call from the Assistant Sup.

He is at work, but darling husband had an encouraging chat with the Assistant Sup... lasted 20 minutes, I guess.

Has anyone else received such a call today?

Well, darling daughter answered the phone. Darling son and Darling husband

have same first name. CAPT Brown identified himself and asked for darling son by first name, formal. Not the nickname we use around here.

Darling son was at work. He is the intern for our church's Upward basketball program. So, darling daughter took the phone to her daddy.

When he heard the word "Captain" he said, "Excuse me?"

So, lovely chat ensued. Nice... but still no white envelope in the mail today, KWIM? Maybe Monday.

So for any female applicants: Are any of you participating in the chat on Thursday? I was planning on it, I figure it will be a good way to get a sense of what it will be like attending an SA as a female.

lol, I am making the assumption that you're a guy by your screenname, sorry if I am wrong haha. There is a chat on Thursday hosted on the CGA website for all female applicants.

Hi I will be participating in the chat Thursday.

Regards,

Julia

It seems that admissions is really 'reaching out' to female applicants. Just an observation.

If the Academy Admissions office sent out envelopes on Nov. 10th, someone should have

heard something by now I would think? Anyone?

It's a little early

I know some were told that mailings were going out last week and this week, but from our experience last year things tend to move a little slower than anticipated. Hang in there though, and I hope some do get the good news earlier rather than later. Seems to me early Dec. would be a more likely scenario, given the Nov. 1st EA deadline. Fingers crossed that all who wait will get good news soon. Our boy will have to wait until college grades post, so he is not yet in full-blown mailman stalking mode. We scared the poor guy last year with all of our running to the mailbox, and excitedly sifting through the contents. :shake:

lol that would probably be interesting if you showed up in the chat...i reccomend trying it

by the way, for anyone that was worrying if the academy received all of their application requirements, I checked my profile on the website and it looks like they're beginning to "gray out" items as all of mine were grayed out.

I heard a very reliable rumor that some Early Action appointments are going out before Dec 15th. :thumb:

Some EA decisions (both good and bad news) are being mailed early this year, but all will be mailed by December 15th.
