I have received an LOA and must submit my application by 10/15. My question is about recommendations from my teachers. Do I just need to have the requests to the teacher loaded in the application system by 10/15 or does my teacher have to complete it and upload by 10/15?

Your application must be in by 10/15. In general, EA applications are not reviewed until all recommendations are in, whenever that may be, even when the application is in by 10/15. However, I don't know how that works with an LOA. I recommend you call Admissions and ask. They are very nice people. Then let us know.

In order for an applicant to be reviewed for Early Action you must have your application submitted by the October 15th deadline with the "Are you applying for Early Action (Y/N)" box checked 'Yes'. In order to submit your application you must complete your personal information, 3 mandatory essays, upload an unofficial High School transcript, and REQUEST your letters of recommendation from your math teacher, English teacher, guidance counselor, and PFE administrator (this means submitting the requests through your application with the person's name and email address). All additional materials (PFE, LOR's, official transcript, etc.) may come in after you submit but should be completed by you and your teachers as soon as possible to ensure we can review your application and provide you with an Admissions decision before the December 24th notification deadline. Please contact your Admissions Officer directly with further questions or concerns. -Go Bears!

Hi, I am new to the forum. Thanks for all the valuable info. I have a question about early action. My son emailed the Admission Rep from our area (Northeast) about what he needs to submit to be considered for early action. He was told he must have everything in by Oct. 15 to be considered. He still needs to get his recs from his teachers and the Pfe since they won't accept the Cfa from his NASS. We are confused because of the previous post. Does it all have to be submitted by the 15th or a request inputted in the application for the recs and Pfe enough? Sorry for rambling on.

All personal information must be submitted prior by 15 Oct as per Admission Rep's post. In other words, everything before the word "request" in that post. Everything following the word "Request" must be requested by 15 Oct. However, the application will not be considered until all requested information has been received.

Thank you, AuxNoob for your reply. After my son got the email he started rethinking about applying for early action. He knew the teacher recs and the PFE won't be done in time for the Oct. 15th deadline. I will let him know what you said. Thanks again.

Just wanted to clarify our Early Action (EA) policy since the deadline is this week and there appears to be conflicting information posted here. As stated above, applicants who wish to be considered under EA must positively answer the "Are you applying for Early Action consideration?" question within their application AND then submit their application by 10/15. In addition, as outlined in the Applicant Handbook, all required application items [official ACT with Writing Test or SAT scores; high school counselor letter of recommendation; mathematics instructor letter of recommendation; English instructor letter of recommendation; PFE] must also be received by 10/15 to guarantee review under EA. The confusion with this requirement may stem from the fact that we routinely allow these required application items to be submitted by 11/1 as along as the application was been submitted by 10/15, so the applicant is not penalized for recommenders who need a few extra days.

So applicants definitely need to positively answer the "Are you applying for Early Action consideration?" question and submit their application by 10/15 in order to be considered under EA, but recommenders will actually have until 11/1 to submit their material for EA applicants.

Thanks, Objee for the further clarification. My son will be applying by tonight. Thanks to all for your help!

Quick question-

I sent my SAT scores out about one and a half weeks ago. However, there is no tick next to the box that says Official SAT scores have been received. I checked CollegeBoard and it said the scores were sent out 10/09.

I really want to make the EA date but I'm not sure what to do?
