Early Action Statistics

To all. My DD failed her PFE due tomorrow due to coughing from a upper respiratory infecting. So she is out the running. I wish the best to all of you waiting!
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully Plan B is all squared away for you all, best of luck to her in her future endeavors.

She emailed AO. No response yet. I says a passing score is required with application. She has every thing else. ACT composite 32, GPA 4.15, National Honors Member with 250 hours of service. Sailed in the ocean from NYC to Norfolk, VA. The PFE put and end to it.

Does she have one from before?? I think she only needs like a 135 ... then she can do better

The due date for letters of recommendation is Tuesday the 17th, I assume due to the federal holiday. Since she can't reach anyone for official advice, I would recommend either doing the PFE with the cough and seeing if she can glean a passing score, or giving it a healthier try Monday or first thing Tuesday. She's got too much invested to let it go now.

Thank you for the data. My son is EA WaitList, and just received his West Point acceptance this past Thursday. He also has 2 USNA nominations and is waiting on that decision, as well as USAF. Question: Is the WestPoint acceptance something he should be letting the other Service Academies know about? His 1st choice is USCG. He is wondering whether that information is known by other SAs or if it's advantageous to let them know, and possibly improving your profile?
Thanks!

Congratulations on the USMA appointment. Each SA has its own selection criteria for the needs of the service. Think about the civilian college side. Would Harvard care if DS/DD was accepted into Yale?

The other SAs don't know the appointees from the other SAs.

However, I think you can leverage your acceptance to WP by saying to USCGA, "USCGA is my number one choice. Despite my offers of appointment to WP, I still wish to go to USCGA."

That way USCGA knows your DS commitment and motivation to go there. IMHO.
