I have heard several stories both on this forum and elsewhere of candidates being admitted or receiving LOAs as early as October or November from getting their applications in early. This being said, if I submit my application in the next week or so will I have a chance at this, and more importantly so, will my odds of being admitted be greater than waiting closer towards my deadline (November 28)?

Maybe this question is somewhat vague, but I want to do everything I possibly can to get admitted.

Best timing advice that’s come out of this forum: Submit the best application you can, as early as you can. Emphasis on best. If taking more time allows you to significantly improve your package, then do so.

As long as you meet the deadline, submitting earlier does not ffect your chances. Offer of appointment is based on WCS, not the calendar. And don’t worry about the LOA — it’s rare, conditional and not the end game.

What is WCS?

What is WCS?

If you haven’t found The Acronym List here on SAF, in Community Information, it’s a good resource.

If you haven’t yet read every page, drop down and link on your Service Academy websites, I recommend it. Most answers are there, the primary source.

Whole Candidate Score. Takes into account all kinds of things in a candidate’s application, a way to score the package.
