Early summer reporting for Fourth Class?/AROTC

DS is 4 yr scholarship winner starting Freshman year in August. Are new members/Freshmen typically required to report early in August, before orientation/registration, for AROTC training, APFT, etc? Thank you

You will want hime to check in with his unit, but at our DDs school, all of the units (NROTC, AROTC, AFROTC) had to report in early. Some were earlier than others, though. I would imagine that he will get a "Welcome" packet, but if you are needing to plan travel schedules, etc., then he should be proactive in reaching out to them.

There are advantages to reporting early by the way. After NROTC freshman orientation we had a half day to get DS moved into his dorm room without fighting off any other freshman for carts, elevators, etc. YMMV.
