ECA Weighting

hello,

I am just curious to know how extracurrculars such as JROTC, Student Government, Boys State, sports, drill team and stuff like that are compared to eachother. In the eyes of USAFA admissions, are some ECAs more valuable than others?

@sa_applicant2023 USAFA admissions has a great instagram page @academyadmissions . This question has come up many times before and they've said that they don't weigh one activity over another, but they do look for evidence of leadership and active involvement in the activities you participate in. They'd rather see passionate commitment in a few areas than joining a ton of activities and not getting involved.

Essentially, they prefer you to be passionate about one or two things rather than skimming a larger number of pursuits. Not that you can't enjoy Art Club, Dance Club, National Honor Society, Steelers Nation Life Force Club, Ski Club, Boxing Club, Library Aide, Nursing Home Reader/Helper... But it would look better on your stats if you were to have 5 years and rise to officership in Steelers Nation Life Force Club, get your Mitchell or Spatz in CAP, and be an officer in officer in Art Club, while captain of the fencing team.
