I applied to Valley Forge, Marion Military Institute and Georgia Military College. I want to be enrolled in ECP. If I am accepted to them and indicated on my application of my interest in ECP, am I enrolled in it then? I imagine there is paperwork but if I put it down on my application and I'm accepted, am I enrolled? Also, if you're enrolled in ECP, do you need to get some type of scholarship or something to commission? Or just meet the physical and mental standards? Thanks

You might really want to do some in depth research on ECP. Read some of the threads on this board that talk about ECP. Do you want to go Active Duty Army?, you'll want to research this because many in ECP end up being required to serve their obligation in the Reserve/National Guard.

Don't worry. I've done research on ECP but all that I can find on the internet and on this forum is all of the promotional stuff that they say. There really isn't a lot of detail about it on the small detail level, like enrolling etc. With my research I was aware that many serve their obligation in the reserve/guard. I'm looking to do more than just my obligation, by the way.

You need to get in touch with each school to which you have applied, talk to them directly about joining the ECP Program and what the requirements are.

Not sure what you mean by wanting to do more then your obligation, that's a fine goal but I was more in reference to whether you are looking to go Active Duty after you complete your final two years of college once you commission through ECP. Be careful accepting any scholarships through ECP if your looking at Active down the road. You may have the opportunity to do more then your initial obligation but just realize, that may be served in the Reserve/National Guard.

This subject is also in the off-topic section by same poster. Probably need to combine them.

I agree with Jcleppe. My son commissioned thru ECP last year. Last year was a messed up year in the program. Things can change quickly in it and cadets don't always have time to recover from the changes.
