DS received an engineering internship this summer. He said he would be in St. Louise Missouri (but that may change). Would greatly appreciate any information or suggestions on this program: length, housing, experiences, etc.

Thanks

I live in St. Louis, and would be glad to offer advice on the area. What company will he be interning for?

Thanks so much!! I believe the program is through the Army Corps of Engineering.. He hasn't been given any information except that he qualified, received an internship and where. His Cadre wasn't very helpful. They know less about the program than him. I'm sure he will be finding out more info soon. He has to coordinate summer training with the internship. So that shall be interesting.

I told him, "Road trip" for me!!! yeah. Ive never been to St. Louis.

St. Louis is great, lots to see and do here, especially in the summer. Feel free to message me about the area. Congrats to your son!

If he's interning with the ACE he'll most likely be working on river transportation issues, primarily the lock and dam system (best guess.) The Corps has an office there. They also deal with low water and flooding issues, and the levy systems along the Mississippi River. http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/

Thank you for sharing the info. I already passed it on to DS. That would be a great experience for him since we live by the Mississippi River.

My pleasure. I work for an agricultural organization. We work with the Corps a lot on updating/repairing/upgrading the river systems.
