The class of 2011 had 33 slots for ENJJPT, but I have been told that 2012 may have closer to 40. The selection for ENJJPT involves class rank, but it is also dependent on the recommendation of the permanent party training officers from the airmanship classes at USAFA.
Be aware that graduating from ENJJPT doesn't guarantee a fighter slot anymore, and there have been ENJJPT grads assigned to everything from C-17s to RPAs in the last couple of years.

I was thinking the same thing Stealth. Gone are the days of only fighters! I think it is the allure that make people want ENJJPT. Our DS did not even put it on his list, he did regret it because he got Laughlin 
For those who have ENJJPT, you will have a new wing king in a few weeks. His name is Col (BG sel.) Fantini aka Fanman. He comes from the Pentagon and was the commander of Jt Req. Overseas Council. Basically his office overseas what goes into the airframes. I know this because he just left last week and was Bullet's direct boss. This guy knows anything and everything you would want to know about not only the 22, but the 35 too.
He spent about 7 yrs here...Pentagon, Commander in Kuwait for a yr., back to the Pentagon. He is a 16 driver and graduate of WIC. His wife, Ann is an amazing woman. She was in the AF, but left and was here the Chief of Cardiac Surgery. Every yr she volunteers for Drs. without Borders. They have 3 children.

My sons medical waivers finally went thru today, so after grad school at Northeastern University he"s off to Sheppard AFB. Here is a link to a video of my son which was aired last fall on Mountain West Sports Network during a pregame football show. He was selected to take a reporter up for a glider ride.

Being top of your class would not guarantee an ENJJPT slot.
There is more than just academics that goes into the selection process.This year I am told 42 cadets were selected to got to ENJJPT,
