As for the answer to your question on enlisted acceptance rate on that thread, I don't work in admissions and I do not have the answer. I do believe not every enlisted applicant is fully qualified, and for those who can use a little help in some areas to be successful from admissions' point of view, they are likely to get accepted for NAPS first vice directly admitted.

FWIW, Admiral(Ret) Locklear, the last PACOM Commander, was enlisted, went to NAPS, then USNA. His career turned out more than okay.

Admiral Locklear, if I recall his bio correctly, was also Brigade Commander. I know he was also USNA Commandant. A little salt can really help...

I don't know. I would think most Fleet sailors have their quals. I also think quals matter less because the program is open to sailors who are still in their schools.

I imagine they probably did. Plus, how long it took you to qualify compared to the nom - was it on your eval or CO's endorsement? That would have shown your motivation. That said, if other applicants have not checked onboard with enough time to qualify their warfare pin, or in a long school pipeline like nuke's, I don't think they get penalized.

@CaliNavyMom: nemo is a submarine conventional(non-nuke) Machinist's Mate.
 
I got it in 4.5 months I got in about of the third of the time compared to the Norm, perks of being forward deployed im always underway, also yes it was in the CO's endorsement letter. Now that being said, how heavily weighted is my CO's endorsement letter because its fantastic
 
Good job! You definitely weren't slacking! Having that mindset and ability will serve you well in the academy.

CO's endorsement? Heavier than you can imagine!
 
thanks it took a lot of work to get my fish =) the only thing im concered were my ACTs were a little low but everything else was on point from my 4.0 gpa in highschool to my military recommendations I got back from an underway not to long ago I finished my application 2 weeks ago. how will they notify me usually?
 
Email and portal. Your CO may get notified before you so he can personally congratulate you, not 100% sure if that will be the case.

Also, not sure if you will go directly or NAPS first - your ACT could be a factor.
 
I understand this last bit of waiting is so frustrating! When I finished I had a million questions to ask and came up with all these different scenarios I thought could happen. Best thing I could do was check my email everyday until I saw something from USNA.

Twice a day: ~noon and after 1700 Eastern Time. Only Monday to Friday. Admissions do not work 24/7.

Saturdays too if you're a bunch of hours ahead! Nearly hit the ceiling jumping out of my chair when I looked in the morning.

I am sure a good FC would have done a module called "time conversion" and can teach a YN, or maybe that is too "old school"? :D

We just go on Google now! Only time we look at modules is for the advancement exam (if one studies).
