Hello everyone,

This coming Friday, I have my congressional nomination with Eric Cantor's academy advisory board. I'm very excited but also a little nervous, as this will definitely be the greatest challenge I face in the application process. Does anyone have any advice to prepare for this interview? Are there any unique questions? I have had my interviews with the Navy Blue-Gold Officer and the Air Force Liason Officer, both of which I felt very confident. Can I expect the nomination interview to be similar?

Thank you very much!

My DS's BGO told him to have a 30 commercial explaining why he would be the best choice for a nomination when asked "Tell us about yourself". Don't just blurb out what is in your application packet. They usually use this as an Icebreaker to get you relaxed, but you can use it to your advantage by starting off with a good first impression.

If you do a search in the Nomination section you will find tons of good information. It is also worth your time to write out answers to what you think might be asked so that you will feel comfortable when the questions come.

Good Luck! and let us know how it goes.
