Another question here. My DD noticed one of the essay questions is almost identical to the one she wrote for her AIM essay. Is it ok to use the same one with a few tweaks? Not sure the protocol on that.
Thanks

Should be fine-but pay attention to the details of the essay question. Make it personal ... tell a story unique to DD.

An applicant I knew had the same observation. They have your AIM information, so I would tend to encourage you to explore other options first.

Essays and the interview are a real opportunity to tell your story.

Good luck!

Every time you get a chance to improve your answers you should give it serious consideration. Both answers will be in your file and they'll know you had an opportunity to review, so consider how it looks when you choose to let that opportunity pass by. Something must have happened in the past half year that could improve or replace your earlier answer (or were you just that awesome as a junior in high school?) At least go do some light copy editing so they know you reviewed and considered the question.

Will do!

"...tell(ing) your story." is critical.

Are you saying they will look back at my AIM essay when judging my application. My heart just sank. It’s hard for me to admit but I just looked over my AIM essay and realized that grammerly must have not been working that day as it is filled with spelling, grammar issues.

Grammerly is awful. So is Microsoft Word. I suggest really working on your composition and have someone check your essays before you submit them.

Microsoft Word is fine but it presupposes that the author will actually review their essay BEFORE they hit send. I have previously advised @Justin1235 on this topic before and since then, his posts on this forum have become marginally better but still not nearly where they need to be for a Service Academy application. Having someone else also review the essays before sending is good advice though.

Essay Plan: 1. Highlight the key aspects of the essay question (use yellow marker). 2. Draft outline. 3. Revise outline 4. Write first draft 5. Re-write your draft. 6. Check that you've addressed key highlighted aspects-re-edit. 7. send to five trusted friends to edit (3 typically come back in time). 8. Final edit 9. Put it on a word document with no formatting used. 10. Cut and paste into online application. 11. Final check before hitting send/save.

All due respect, I have found Microsoft Word corrections to be subpar or even incorrect.
Your concurrence with review suggestions is greatly appreciated.
