Hey everyone,
I was perusing the forum for any additional information I could obtain regarding the Admission process for the USNA.
I noticed a little bit about ethnic diversity being a factor - is this something that is actually taken into consideration for Offers of Appointment?
Thanks for any possible information.

I would guess that at some level they do take ethnicity into account, as they have diversity goals to meet, however I don't think being non-white will give you a huge boost. I would hope that the number one factor in admission is merit/qualifications, however it doesn't seem to always be that way. I read an article from a few years ago that someone linked on this forum, that analyzed admissions to USNA/USMA among various ethnic groups, specifically, White, Asian, Black, and Hispanic/Latino. The study only focused on SAT scores though. The piece presented the conclusion that admission is no easier for Asians, while it was easier for African-Americans/Hispanics.
