Exercise

^I am assuming you have never done p90x before. It's on crack to begin with. I've done plenty of school conditioning and 3 a day practices, whatever you want to call it, but nothing is as high impact and intense as the workouts. If you do the workouts right, at least one set of extemities doesnt work properly the next day. It's sounds like your workouts are working for you, so more power to ya.

Personally I’m not a fan of P90X. I think its kind of over rated, and too generic. It’s not personalized, so it will be not nearly as effective as working out with a friend with specific goals in mind. There is no substitute for having a workout partner with a common goal. Keep in mind I DO have it, my brother uses it, but he has no goal of fitness besides just wanting to look good (I think is a HORRIBLE reason).

In my opinion the best equipment to get fit are running shoes, and a pull up bar, and maybe the perfect pushup if you want. They should be your best friend, and there is NO substitute. But if you just stay active, you probably will make it through BCT, its not BUD/S or PJ Indoc, they aren’t looking to weed out 90%.

Nateman - definitely did P90X last year. Ughhhhhhh it's the bane of my existence BUT it works wonders haha. Yeah this year we're doing a mix of that and this other work out video that focuses more on cardio and abs. Thus the P90X on crack. And yeah, I could barely walk yesterday my hips/core hurt so fricking bad.

And the pull up bar is my best friend. When I feel like using it...

The P90X on crack is their new "Insanity" program. It's an intensive 60 day thing that uses no weights or bands. So essentially a lot of pushups and cardio, probably with some other using-body-as-resistance-weight tricks. I'll stop before I sound like an advertisement :yllol:. I've never tried insanity anyway, only saw the infomercial.

P90X I have tried though. I did it last summer to begin my working out for the Academy and CFA. I stopped after about 6 weeks to practice the CFA events specifically though and never really went back. I think it works, but it's hard to stick with and it has a focus more towards building muscles to show off rather than use.

I have kept using the Ab RipperX video though with my normal pushups-pullups routines. It's the shortest video and makes your abs really burn, upper and lower. So maybe try out that one, FutureAFA, just insert it into a normal workout.
