Expedite Medical Waiver?

I have my initial appointment to USAFA! However, while filling out my initial medical questionnaire, I mistakenly recorded that I had a concussion at 13 yrs old. When I actually looked at the medical records later, the 2013 CT scan showed that there was no evidence that I'd ever had a concussion to begin with. Even though it never existed, I'm still required to receive a medical waiver in order to attend the academy.

While USAFA is my first choice, I've also been offered a full ride scholarship to Georgia Tech. I still haven't heard back from the waiver authority and the deadline to decline Georgia Tech is May 3rd. Do y'all have any advice about how I can expedite the waiver process and receive a response hopefully before next Monday? As I said before, I want to attend USAFA, but I don't want to foreclose my other options should I get denied.

Thanks.

To clarify, you mean you have a conditional appointment? That is dependent on clearing DoDMERB? Assuming you have a conditional appointment, then my understanding is the waiver review process would have been started but do you know how long ago?

If you're looking for suggestions or assistance from the official himself, you should probably post this in the DoDMERB forum so the right people see it and maybe include a little more context so others can provide feedback.

I have a different diagnosis but same boat. My plan Bs are even sooner, 5/1. Just emailed one today to see if they could extend, but unlikely. Ms. Block from the USAFA waiver authority said that it can take 1-2 weeks once all files are in. I may be forced into a gap year if the deadline cannot be extended and USAFA denies. Good luck!

I am in the same boat. USAFA appointment conditional of medical with a need for waivers. My plan b and c colleges are due 5/1 and 5/3. The advice I have received is to accept and put down a deposit at your plan b school and to go through the motions with USAFA and plan b until a medical decision is made.
