Extremely bad second semester GPA junior year.

Lillian, I see it is four days since your original post and that today was your expected results day from your SAT. I would think a great deal of your plan to proceed will depend on your scores.

Good or not quite so good, plan to retake the test(s) (try ACT too) after some practice and study in the fall. And try to take the tough classes next fall.

And please do talk to your ALO who can make more/better suggestions.

I definitely going to retake the SAT. I got: Composite-2030; CR-740; M-660; and W-630....The writing score is terrible and I know it's because of the essay..I got a 6/12 on the essay and 68/80 on the multiple choice writing. I get my ACT scores in a few days, but I know I did absolutely terribly..I am going to be studying a lot for the SAT over the summer and will retake on the first testing date of the school year. I'm not sure how to get the essay score up though. I don't write very fast.

I'm more familiar with the ACT, but I wouldn't say that your scores are terrible, they seem respectable to me. For writing I was able to increase my ACT writing from 7/12 to 11/12 by simply writing. A LOT. Practice with the time requirement until you are more comfortable with it. Just my $0.02! Good luck!

Forget the writing. For purposes here, it doesn't matter (or maybe things have changed?).

Yeah, I wouldn't stress the writing as much as the math, especially because you did hit the 600s. If it improves, great. If you can get your math in the 700s and even bump up your reading, you'll be in great shape test-wise.

Okay..I was just worried about my composite score, but I guess if I get my reading and math scores up then the writing won't drag it down too much... :)

Alright :) I'll practice the essay over this summer. I can use the points wherever I can get them..
