I am just wondering if anyone knows how waivers are issued for disqualified candidates due to eye exams. My son has 20/15(better than 20/20) in one eye and 20/60 in the other. He sees 20/15 when using both eyes. How do they decide what qualifies for a waiver?

Page 8 has the codes for vision. If it's correctable to 20/20, even if he has disqualifying astigmatism or myopia, waivers are still possible.

Has he already been disqualified? 20/60 isn't that bad, unless it's not correctable. I have uncorrected vision several times worse.

If that's his uncorrected vision, your son should have no problem. I have far worse uncorrected vision and I didn't need to get a waiver. If that's his corrected vision he will most likely be disqualified because it has to be correctable to 20/20.
