Hi,
I had my eye exam for DoDMERB today. The only thing the doctor mentioned was that I have a lazy eye. Nothing wrong with my vision I have 20/20. So do you know if thats a disqualification or not? I can't get info from the DoDMERB site about it.

Thanks!

Lazy eye by itself is not a disqualification as long as you can correct to 20/20 in both eyes. There could be issues if your refractive error is over the limits, or if the refractive error between both eyes is greater than +/- 2.50 diopters.

Yes I have 20/20 Correctable. Does anyone one know how long once DoDMERB has your file, how long it takes to process it?

For the initial examination it can take up to 15 days, for remedials up to 30 days.

This is myCurrent Medical Status:

Remedial Status/Post Waiver Review
What do I do now?

Leysa,

Most likely you have a disqualification (more than likely a vision issue) that Coast Guard automatically grants waivers for. So currently you are disqualified, waiver granted, but have outstanding remedial items that need to be cleared up before the wavier granted code can be applied to your file.

You should be getting a letter from DoDMERB that lists the remedials that DoDMERB needs. You should also be able to view them on the DoDMERB web site.

Ok I see today on the DoDMERB site it says Pending waiver review by USCGA. So they will review it. if they need any more info let me know and I should Be all set! Thanks!
