Currently, my vision in my left eye is 20/60 and in my right eye 20/20. However, in my left eye, I also suffer from amblyopia. Regardless, I understand that for West Point, your vision must be corrected to 20/20, which is not the case for my left eye. How often do they hand out waivers in cases like my own? I am a competitive candidate who has already received a LoE; should hear about my nominations soon.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you receive an update on your situation?

Unfortunately, I am still waiting for DODMETS to complete their review of my medical examinations. I have received all three nominations and have recently completed my CFA (with the hopes that I passed), and I am only waiting on my medical decision. Thank you for reaching out.

When did you complete your physical and eye exam? If it was before the date of this original post, you should NOT still be waiting on DODMETS. All of your paperwork should be at DODMERB by now.

I completed the exams in the middle of December. My original post was made well before the exams were scheduled as I was just concerned for how they could potentially go.
