So I just got back from the doctors today where I had a yearly physical done. At the doctor's they drew blood and I briefly fainted. Do I need to report this if I'm already DODMERB qualified? Also, do you think the doctor would keep a record of the incident? Thanks!

That's a vaso-vagal response. The vagus nerve triggered your blood pressure to lower causing the syncope, or fainting.

I don't think it will be a problem. If I had a dollar for every Marine who got woozy or actually passed out during a blood draw, injection, or seeing their own blood I'd have a bunch of dollars.

When my son went to get his flight physical, they took a lot of blood for testing. While he didnt have any issues, many of his friends who came with him got woozy and dizzy when they had to give blood. There wasnt any issue with this reaction

We have a few of our high school students out on clinical internships. One girl got assigned to an OB/GYN practice. She was actually assisting first day with a delivery. She saw the facts of life in action and hit the deck. Passed out. Fainted. BZ to her, she went back the next day but fell out again. I think she needs to rethink her career choice.

I would not report it. it is common to faint after getting blood drawn. If you were to have a history of fainting without drawing blood, though I would report it because it could disqualify you rated jobs.
