Falcon Foundation Scholarship

Falcon Scholarship

If you have received a Falcon Scholarship and want to go to the Air force Academy sign it now and send it in. My son was a Falcon last year. He went to NWP and says it is the best experience he has ever had. The Durbecks usually have at least half of the Falcons at NWP. The number of Falcons that they receive should tell you how good the program is. If you would like to talk to me about the Falcon Scholship or NWP email me at jbr@robbinsoil.com and I will be happy to give you my number.

Agree with Robbins66. Also had a son go to Northwestern Prep on a Falcon Foundation Scholarship beginning Sep 2011. Was a great experience for him, and he is so much more mature and prepared for the academy than a year ago.

Just officially accepted the scholarship. I am thinking of going to the NMMI prep school. Really excited

I know as a falcon scholar you have to get another congressional nomination, but I was wondering if you have to do the whole application process again (for the Air Force Academy not the congressional nomination). I know it took me a while and it would be great not to have to do all that paperwork again. Thanks

Metro,

I would be glad to share what the Falcons had to do this year. Keep in mind that things maybe slightly different next year. DS was instructed by his prep school, NWP, not to do anything on the USAFA reapplication until instructed by the prep school.

  • Transcript - Your prep school will submit this for you.
  • CFA - Administered at your prep school
  • Personal Data Record - You will have to resubmit this information.
  • ALO Interview - Waived
  • Activities Record - You will have to resupply this.
  • Drug and Alcohol Statement - Resubmit
  • Writing Sample - Waived
  • Letters of Recommendation - Waived
  • DODMERB - Exam is valid for 2 years but you must supply a written update.
  • Nomination - You must apply to all nomination sources available to you.
  • ACT/SAT scores - You will take both exams at all available dates

This is a great program and I look forward to seeing your name on the appointment list next May.

The official "time clock" has run down for MoC's to announce appointments so - I can say, officially, that NMMI had a 100% rate (9 for 9) on our Falcons this year! Some have been posting here all year. All will tell you that the Falcon Program is a GREAT oppotunity.

Congrats to all our Falcons!

+1 Congrats to all the Falcons!

It is my understanding that NWP also had a 100% rate (50 out of 50). A number of free agents also received appointments and a few free agents are still on the wait list.

Question

So Falcon Scholarships are done. Is the Class '16 at USAFA almost or already full? I does not matter if I slide in at #1050 of 1,050, but I am anticipating some sort of news soon.

Congratulations to all Falcons! Wonderful news! We met a free agent from NWP this weekend at our Parent Club send off. So many have such amazing resumes whether it is a Falcon or a free agent. Congrats all!

At NMMI are you allowed to have a car. I don't think I would really need it, but it would be nice to be able to drive home instead of buy plane tickets. Thanks

Not until second semester, when you go from being a RAT (Recruit At Training) to a Private.

Steve...

Read the bio's on your two buddies... VERY impressive!!!

All the education that came after USAFA... all paid for by Air Force?

Looks like you've been hanging around in some good company all these years.

Now, do tell, your friends are "Big" and "BeeBop." What are YOU called? :shake:

You know...the most important thing to think about, IMHO, is the past...Falcon's have done VERY well...

A couple of my Falcon "Buddies"...

http://www.af.mil/information/bios/bio.asp?bioid=10443 also know as "BeeBop" to NWPS '78 folks!

Great guys, and they've done pretty good too!!

General "Tunes" Looney is also a Falcon and the first Falcon to reach 4 star rank. I had the pleasure of briefing him and his wing staff when he was the 33 FW/CC.

At NWPS...I was "Huey" as in "Baby Huey!" I'm a kinda big guy and everyone thought that was funny.

And later when I began flying...I got two tags...

"G-Man" is the most common one.
