Falcon Foundation Scholarship

I would assume since FF students are high priority some may receive LOAs? Is it possible that the LOAs will go out to FF students before 1st term grades are even submitted? It would sure be nice to be at college second semester knowing that I already had an appointment! I hated waiting from september-march this time!

I don't know the answer to this. I know when I was an FF scholar, LOA's did not happen. To be honest, I don't know if that's because the AFA didn't use LOA's "WAAAAY back then" or ???

But my "opinion" is there's no way they'd do that without grades and the evaluation from the school.

Wouldn't make sense, would it?

I'm going to back up flieger here on the value of a Falcon scholarship.

My daughter was a WP AOG scholar who went to prep school with a bunch of AF AOG scholars as well as Navy and CG.

From what I can tell the program works very similar at all academies - it is true this is a "golden ticket". However, it is one that you can "lose" - by not performing well in school or inappropriate conduct. You were offered this scholarship for a reason - the academy wants you as a cadet.

Having an AOG scholarship puts you in a unique category for the next admission cycle. It is your spot to lose. If you are motivated, study and fulfill the obligations of the scholarship you will get an appointment. When she was at MMI all the Falcon scholars got their appointments and got them in the late winter/early spring.

If you REALLY want the AFA and was offered this scholarship then accept it without reservation. IMO. congratulations and good luck to all!

I was wondering if everyone receives the same amount of $5k for the scholarship. I have heard that number from people on here, and I earned the same. Are there different levels, or is it a straight-ticket with that amount?

Congrats TMAN, I am 99% sure that they are all 5,000! Where will you be going? Me and Roman are headed to NWPS!

I would also like to go to NWPS.
so, to get it completed, I have to send in the paper AND apply to the school?

Also, I know NWPS is half a year, so is it advisable to go to a community college for the next semester?

sorry for the questions, but I never really looked into the prep schools

thanks for the help

Hope to see you there!

Here's what you do if you want to go to NWPS...call! The directors will answer any questions you have and let you know the application process. Call FF to confirm your scholarship for NWP, then you will just need to fill out the "application" information sheet for the school to have your info. But I would just call first!

My online status changed to this today:

"Appointment Status: Falcon At Northwstrn (accepted)"
