Apparently, this is a thing. If you happen to be visiting, you may want to look for a few of these.

Interesting. On the Tripoli monument, years ago, I read the bronze placard that told of where the marble originated in Italy. Having visited the region and city where Michelangelo chose his beautiful marble, I noticed "Carrara" was spelled incorrectly as “Carrera.” It is still that way today. This would be a good scavenger hunt prize – find the misspelled word on a placard in the Yard and win a trip to Italy.

Find the monument dedicated to children.

I have really come to enjoy this relatively new group, @navalacademytourism.com. It’s another place that people can find info, and book tours through. As well as a centralized point for tourism things that are USNA.

This is a stretch but what could be a better monument to children (midshipmen) than a mother? As in Mother “B”. On our next visit I will look in the chapel and rotunda.

Slightly related tangent— check out “usnahistory” on instagram. The account is run by the history department and is full of crazy/funny/intriguing historical tidbits of usna history.
Caught sight of DS in a recent post. :). We still do the "Waldo hunt" for pictures posted on social media in hopes of getting a glimpse and get giddy when spotted.

Water fountain on a corner of Worden Field at the Chapel end of the of the field, closest to the quarters not Alumni Hall. When I lived on that street, I was told some story about why it was there, but I don’t remember the specifics.
