Hi.

Q. Does USNA have a Federal School Code for FASFA? I couldn't pull it up on the FASFA school search page. I did find one on the internet; however, it had too many digits and even if I dropped the last two "zeros" - I was unable to verify it as being valid on the FASFA site.

Q. I guess this leads to yet another question: I understand the importance of pursuing FASFA for "Plan B, etc" schools, but does FASFA have any relevance for the USNA?

Thanks,
Murf

Since purpose of FAFSA is to get $$$ for school and USNA is fully funded I don't believe you need to include it on your FAFSA. I agree and commend you for having a "Plan B" and pursuing any and all manner of financial assistance.

Does anyone else feel differently on the FAFSA?

Makes sense to me. Why would you need financial aid to a fully funded service academy?

DadandGrad you are correct -
The service academies are not a qualifying educational institution.

But, definitely file and list your backup school. If you qualify for some Federal grants then you must have filed your FAFSA early to receive them. Also some schools have FAFSA deadlines that must be met regardless of admission notification or decision.
