I just read that a FFR interview is required for this years application. How do I go about setting one up, do I have to reach out to the rep or will they contact me first? Also, since I went to SLE and had my interview with my squad leader does that count as a interview? Would I not have to do the one with the FFR?

I have no official answer but our experience from this cycle to share. My son also was at SLE and had an interview. He was contacted by FFR and an interview was set up for him. It was interesting because just like our MOC the interview was set by the FFR and it was at a difficult time for my son and our family. We made it work but it seems that there are no choices or other options to reschedule these things. This is one of the many surprising things about this process for us. Good luck.

I would encourage you to be proactive and reach out to your FFR. Also your FFR can answer your questions about the interview you had at SLE.

I would encourage you to contact your FFR directly. DS's regional commander told him to contact his FFR for an interview even though he had already had one at SLE. DS contact FFR, who said he had no idea why a second interview was being requested. He said there was nothing in his file to trigger a second interview, but he graciously made it work and met with him because he said DS was persistent. :) . He said this was the first time he had ever done a "second" interview. It was good that it happened though, as he gave generously of his time and explained so much about the process/filled in the gaps for so many things.

I went to SLE as well. FFRs are typically easy-going and willing to work with you. I had to do both interviews. Fun fact though, my FFR didn't have time so the state coordinator took care of it and it was extremely informal-in the technology closet of the building a WP Informational meeting was in. If you are proactive, they should be able to work with you and help with the process.

There is a huge disconnect between USMA and the FFRs. Many FFRs have not heard of the "new requirement".

I have been confused during this whole process about the whole FFR interview thing, but just wanted to add that USMA Admissions confirmed today in my son's overnight visit briefing that an interview is required, but not needed if one was done at SLE. My son was at SLE but doesn't think he did an interview (???) so he reached out to FFR and did one last month.

I am a CC and contacted my FFR via email back in July or August (we had already met at a workshop in the spring so I was just checking in). He originally told me that my interview had been completed during SLE, but later on he told me that my squad leader's interview somehow had not been sufficient. We subsequently met and took care of it

Our son's RO asked him to schedule interview back in August. He emailed FFR, they met and did interview. They told him it was required. His RO had indicated the same. They have also been a great mentor to him since them.

So after the FFR uploads interview, does it show in the portal? My DS's FFR uploaded the interview completion but does not show in the portal because there is no check box for that

No, there is no way to see that it is done. Our DS got an email from his FFR indicating they had submitted, and his RO confirmed. He has no access to see it or see a 'checked box'.
