On the website, it says field hockey is an extracurricular. Is that the same as club? I don't see it listed under club sports on the athletic page. Would USNA ever have a D1 team or will it remain just club?

Not the same as club. Club sports are allowed to practice during intramurals and exempts athletes from intramurals. As an ECA it would not exempt you from intramurals. A team would not normally go from an ECA to D1. It would spend some time as a club normally. Also teams who did make this transition it was a several year effort to make this transition and investment in coaches prior to the conversion.. I believe field hockey at the NCAA level is either men's or women's while the club level appears to be co-ed.

Street Hockey is an intramural sport here. So you would only be playing against other companies in the Brigade, plus a play-offs season at the end of the semester.

My daughter is on the USNA's Field Hockey team. Its a co-ed team and they play several schools in the tri-state area, and compete in tournaments. They play in the fall and spring. They had 2 games this weekend and won them both. She loves it! They are trying to move up to club status, but not sure how long that process takes.
