File reviewed but no notification?

I don't know for sure, but I don't think that they do.
The RC does choose which files in his region go before the Admissions Committee, but they work within how candidates are ranked on the NWL (top to bottom by WCS). Those at the bottom of the list probably won't make it to the Admissions Committee - unless they are a candidate that falls in the 'Additional Appointees' category (where WP can appoint candidates without regard to the WCS). 'Additional Appointees' are those that help WP meet their composition goals - usually underrepresented minorities.
What is, usually, the biggest or largest under represented minority groups that they usually pull most of?

We are brand new to this forum and appreciate any words of wisdom or information. Our DS is also qualified and has not heard or been seen by NROTC or USNA. He has a 760 in math and qualified physically & academically by USMA. However, other than asking for a DODMERB response for our DS doctor, we are hearing nothing. Has anyone seen or heard of any appointments/LOA/BFE or TWE for Nevada, other than 1 who declined, from CD-4?
Thanks in advance

He has to be qualified medically (DoDMERB) before he can be considered for an appointment.

The other piece everyone seems to be missing is where you sit on your nomination source slate. You could have completed your file and had it qualified early in the process but not be high enough to be offered an appointment. They have to have a place to slot your appointment and if you only have one nomination it makes it difficult if you don't win your slate. The RCs have a pretty good idea where the NWL cutoff will be in terms of WCS.
Your RC is the one person who can realistically give you idea what are your current chances. The strong high school candidates also will have a hard time overcoming the reapplicants based on the academic boost for college.

He won't be qualified Medically until DoDMERB gets and reviews the note from the surgeon.
Until DODMERB qualifies him, he won't be qualified by West Point. If he isn't qualified by West Point, then he can't be considered for an appointment.
He has to be qualified Medically(DoDMERB), Academically and Physically (CFA) with a nomination to be considered for an appointment. I'd be surprised if he was qualified Academically before he is qualified by DoDMERB. The Academic qualification usually happens last.

If he was initially DQ by DoDMERB, the final waiver authority is West Point not DoDMERB. West Point will use DoDMERB to do the remedial and gather the information but the admission board with input from the West Point Doctors will make the final call on the waiver. If he is granted a waiver, then he will become 3Q and move to compete on the different slates. Each academy does this a little different.

Thanks for your comment, we really appreciate it. This is the exact wording from the USMA letter in our DS portal posted last week.
We have received all your application information and the Admissions Committee has qualified your file academically and in physical aptitude.
It then goes on to say "your medical status is undetermined at this time"
This morning we forwarded additional information from the surgeon and hope this will prove to be successful for an appointment. Again, thank you so much for your words of wisdom.

@rlrmilitarymom I do not want to get your hopes up but from the wording you provided this is a good sign. We are later in the process and pushing the waiver through the process tells me that your son is competitive on his slate.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Your comments brought tears to my eyes and a HUGE smile to my heart. Thank you and we will continue to hope & pray. Best of luck to you and your DS. God bless you

@rlrmilitarymom -
The question is - has he been 'disqualified' by DoDMERB?

It sounds like your DS was not 'disqualified' by DoDMERB, but is in the remedial phase of the process where DoDMERB requested more info about the broken foot so that they can make a determination of 'qualified' or 'disqualified.'
If this is the case, then he can still be 'qualified' by DoDMERB and not need a waiver - which would be fabulous!

If he was DQ'd by DoDMERB, then WP (in considering him for a waiver) requested the info through DoDMERB and WP will use that info to make the determination to recommend to the Admissions Committee that the waiver be granted or denied.

Yes our DS is in the remedial phase of the process. No decision has been made at this point and hopefully with the surgeon notes, a positive reflection will be made in our DS favor. Again, thank you for the clarification, we truly appreciate it.

Best wishes. My DS had 2 DQ's, so I understand the angst!

Prayers were answered a long time ago. :)
His waivers were granted and he graduated from WP a few years ago.
