Filling out initial application

Unfortunately I received a 1080 on my past SAT. When filling out the SAT portion on the application to the nomination should I put that in or leave it blank? Also, I was considering entering like an 1180 or 1200 because that is practically the minimum score possibly to apply with. I’m retaking in August so I have to get above those scores in order to apply. Hoping for above a 1300 honestly. So should I fill in my original past score, put in no score, or put in the minimum score in which I’d apply with? (Hopefully it’ll be a lot higher). Sorry for the confusing wording- was just in a rush typing on my phone random thoughts.

Thanks!

Don’t lie. Put in a score when you think you’ve done your best. The nomination deadline for most MOCs is still a ways away. You have time.

Are scores held against you in the nomination application?

Uhhhh.... if you mean will they be used in deciding if you should be given a nomination, in most if not all MOC districts the answer is yes. If you mean stick them to your back or chest or something, the answer is no.

Right. Here’s a better question: I currently got a 1080 on the past SAT. Should I fill out the application to a nomination interview now with that score or enter in the better much higher score that I will get on the August SAT/ Sept. ACT? If I enter now I’m pretty early, if I do it in August I’ll be close to the end of September deadline.

Wait until you get another (hopefully better) test score.

MOC offices vary in operational procedures and matching up a future score to your already submitted packet may not always work out smoothly. Just make sure you meet the MOC's deadline.
