Finally Got the E-mail

If you get a TWE email, does your portal change too? I worried DS got the email, but it went to junk folder. His portal still says CPR though....ugh....
The portal changes to "Turned down by USNA".
Wow, that is a really blunt way to word it...
Yeah, I think seeing that on her portal hurt DD worse than the email.
Telegram, you have been here with us from the beginning. I know great things will come to your DD. God bless you and your family!!!!

Thank you, she is still waiting on USMA (her first choice) and AFA. She is sitting in #2 for WP on her slate waiting for #1 to make decision (he has 3 SA offers). In the meantime, she was offered AOG scholarship so if she doesn't get direct this year to WP she is headed to NWP! She is giving up 4 year AROTC because she says she belongs at West Point. It has been a long road for her to get to that point (originally USNA being top choice with wanting to be a Marine officer), but through the process she has learned a lot about herself and what she wants her future to look like so USMA it is :) Very proud of her! Hoping your DS gets some good news soon.

I'm pretty sure I checked the portal this morning around 0800 and it said CPR, but I got the email around lunch and I went back to check the portal and it said "Turned Down by USNA." I'm pretty sure the portal change is what auto-generates the email.

As a Mom who has watched you all go through this process over the past year and a half, my heart goes out to you. I have watched my son go through the same process and I know the amount of work and dedication it takes. All of you men and women have great determination and nerves of steel. Whether you choose to reapply, or go to your Plan B and and love it, or whatever else you choose, I wish you absolutely nothing but the best. You all are special and have a very bright future ahead of you. I feel secure knowing that you will be the leaders of your generation.

Hugs to all of you.

I'm so sorry....DS not home from running. No text from him, I'm wondering if he got the email too. Plan B !

Though I am disappointed for you by these updates, I am impressed by the rebounding, the resolution, the adaptivity I am seeing. I appreciate not seeing, "I had X, didn't get picked, and so and so had <MyX, and he/she got an appointment."

Rise up and find your path, whether it be another one completely or one that includes a re-attack on this one.

Still CPR and honestly sick to my stomach seeing all of these TWE's! Ya'll are such a great group of kids and parents. All I can say is that I believe the old saying... when one door closes another one opens. DD and I are fiercely working on Plan B stuff. USNA seemed like a wish then became a goal and now is starting to just feel like an oddly disjointed dream. Best of luck to everyone, including us and the others still in CPR limbo.

My DS got the TWE today. I was amused by the suggestions of classes for him to take next year- not very useful since he has already taken all of those classes in high school. He had noms from Congressman Costello and Senator Toomey PA-06
I've taken most (if not all) of them and some. However, most 4-year college GE's require most of the classes anyways, especially for STEM majors. Hopefully this will mean it won't be too difficult for your DS to do well in them in case he wants to reapply!

My DS got his TWE today. I have such profound respect for him as well as all of the fine young men and women who have endeavored to pursue a dream. Best of luck to those who are still CPR. And for those that have been denied, chin up, and know that much success awaits you!
