Woke up this morning to an email from USAFA Admissions and I received a Falcon Scholarship! Now, I am debating between NWP and Kent School. Any ideas?

Shoot me a pm if you want to talk about NWP. The biggest advantages to NWP are that it's completely dedicated to making sure you're ready for the academy and you'll get to know a bunch of your future classmates.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! You have an amazing opportunity. My daughter went to NWP and she feels so much more confident about going in with the class of 2018 rather than if she had been a direct last year. Call Mrs. Durbeck at NWP and talk to her. NWP is an incredible program that will prepare you academically, physically, and emotionally.

First of all, congratulations! You received a letter that is telling you that USAFA wants you. The majority of Falcons receive Appointments the following year. I am not sure about Kent, but posters on these forums have been uniformly ecstatic about the services redered by the Durbecks. Best wishes for securing another nomination and a place with the class of 2019! :thumb:

Can't say that I'm not biased towards NWP, but it was honestly one of the most rewarding 4 months of my life. I was a falcon last year at NWP and am entering for the class of 2018 at USAFA this year. If you have any questions about NWP, the acceptance rate, what the typical day is like, where it is, etc... shoot me a PM!

Oh Goody!

I can't say it any better than everyone who has posted. NWP is unique in that it's sole purpose is to get you to achieve your dreams.

Honestly, as a Falcon (congrats by the way!!!!) you will almost definitely get into USAFA class of 2019 no matter which prep school you choose. It's like an appointment that's yours to lose. That being said, as a NWP prepster/alumni you will show up to I-day with 50 or so of your closest friends which makes the experience that much more special. If you choose to go to Kent you might be the only kid there trying to go to USAFA. While I'm sure the experience at Kent is lovely, NWP will prepare you academically, physically, mentally but also socially. The friends you make at NWP will be there for you throughout basic, freshman year, and even post academy as Air Force officers.
