Finish the year?

Hello all,
I am currently a college re-applicant at a school on the quarter system, and the spring quarter ends on June 10. I am about to finish the Winter quarter strong with pretty difficult courses, in Spring quarter I will be taking very difficult courses, with professors I have heard from my peers are not the best, for my major. Would it be wise to not risk getting a bad grade and not enroll in Spring quarter (and I could save some money because I am paying all out of pocket)? Does West Point request college reapplicant Winter and Spring quarter transcripts? Any insight would be great!

Have you received an appointment to West Point yet? It does not make sense to not enroll for Spring semester if you are not heading to West Point this summer. Now if you have been accepted it would be a different story. Imagine you are excited to head to West Point and they ask you why you decided not to enroll in Spring courses. How will you respond to that? Would you say your courses were too hard or that your professors were not good? I am almost certain that would not come across as a very good reason, especially when West Point is most likely more challenging than the institution you attend.

Sorry if I sound cynical or if this is not the answer you want. Embrace the suck and push through Spring semester. If anything it will only prepare you more for the arduous academics, military commitments, and athletic commitments at West Point that will be a lot harder than taking a a few hard courses with some not so great professors.

Make sure if you were appointed as a college re-applicant with admissions that they your appointment was not based on them projecting what you would have completed spring quarter prior to showing up. I could see it being an issue if they expected you to finish X or Y activities and classes and granted your appointment with that understanding and you not finish them, even if grades weren’t reported. I’d reach out to your FRR for a discussion

Good advice above.
It would be one thing to not take classes in the Spring in order to pursue something else that would help expand your body, mind, and/or character, something you might never have a chance to do again. For example, work overseas to improve your language skills. Hike the Appalachian Trail. Earn your private pilot certificate. I'm not saying these are things you should do, but I would have some respect for someone coming to me with such a plan.
Not taking classes in the Spring because it would be hard, you heard bad things about the professors, and you want to hang out with your buds... wouldn't look good and would do little to prepare you for West Point. Or life in general.
