:tank:Silly question but here goes. Do left handed people still get trained shooting right handed?

My right-handed DS shoots left handed. I didn't know he did this and when I saw one of the first pictures of him during Beast with his rifle slung across his chest in the opposite direction of everyone else, I asked. It shouldn't be a problem for you.

Can't speak for the USNA but the Marine Corps doesn't force you to fire right handed. As I posted above, first step is to learn which eye is your dominant one. Then shoot with whatever hand allows that eye to be the aiming eye.

Thanks all. It is my son that is going to NA. He is left handed but I don't know which eye is dominant. We will find out.

You can shoot what ever way you like. They have brass deflectors on the M16s so that the brass ejecting doesn't hit the lefty's in the face. I personally shoot left handed rifle and right handed pistol (I'm weird, I know) since that's how I always shot growing up left eye dominant and it was fine over plebe summer. Hope this helps.
