Fires and the Summer Seminar

OP here...and no, I was not offended by the post regarding checking our D's email. She has a school email address to which we have access and check on occasion and she has no issue with that. She also has a personal one that we never check...as she has never given us cause for concern to do so.
USAFA is a LONG way from us and we have no friends or relatives in the area. This trip is a lengthy one with changing flights. She is under 18. Yes, I want to be sure everything for this adventure is settled.
That being said, I know that there is a balance between helping, advising and helicoptering. My husband, I think, has gently pulled me back when I move toward the helicopter phase with our teens on issues they can or need to learn to handle (even more so with our boys, which may be sexist, but he did push to let them fall more, earlier, and get up and deal with it). Now with dd at 17 and maybe headed to an SA, we (I) am doing more of that with her. In this case, she did in fact check on things upon return from NASS. My intervention was not needed, but I was still glad to know the information before then!

This board is great for all sorts of feedback and I don't expect to post and always be met with what I WANT to hear. So, all is fine!
