First Board Results

Thanks for reminder there! He has been accepted so far to Penn State, Hawaii and just yesterday Santa Clara. I added all 3 of them.
guessing PSU is the one school NOT in the 8th Brigade? :) Considering it's on the other side of the country.

Yes. My other two sons would go to PSU in a heart beat. Only about 90 min away. This one seems determined to go to a warm climate!

@gooseblitz I won a four-year to my top 3 last year and ended up transferring it to a school that wasn't even on my list. I don't think they really care about where it's allotted to so long as you got into that school.

How do you add them? I cannot find a place where to. Thank you

I see a lot of winners that say 4 Yr to top 3 schools. Can you clarify for me. Does that mean your DS had 7 schools listed but was only given the option of 4 year scholarship on those top 3 schools. Just curious. My son is applying to 2nd board and his top 6 schools are very close in preference to him. Is there any reason you can tell why they wouldn't give your son same offer for schools 4,5,6,7?
Yes, both my DS and DD had 7 schools listed. They both received 4 yr scholarships on the first boards to their top 3 listed schools, that's why order of preference is important. My DD had two friends who received 3 year scholarships on the 2nd Boards and received them to 1,3, &4 and even 2,4, & 5. The advice we received make sure the like all seven and apply to all seven if you are going to list them.

That is great info. Thanks. My DS likes all 7. He has a preference. He is waiting to see if he gets 4 year and if he gets decent aid package from some of the private schools. He just got Dean's scholarship from one of the private schools that if paired with ROTC would amount to Full ride....can't afford to have that school low on list.

Since you mentioned full-ride, I'd make sure that Dean's scholarship can be used towards room and board. Of course I'm preaching to the choir.

My dd was reboarded after 1st board (Army and AF). Can she change her school list up until the second board?

Yes. Not so critical with AF since that can be taken to any school.
