FYI. This was posted on West Point Facebook on December 20, 2013 at 11:50am. "The first round of offer letters will go out on/about Feb. 10, 2014."

Could you provide a link to the post? As I've been scrolling through their Facebook page and can't seem to find it.

West Point Admissions: Letters [of appointment] for the the Class of 2018 will begin to [go] out a little later this month. The majority of the appointments will go out in late February/early March.

Just curious since we are all playing the waiting game till the BFEs start rolling out...does anyone know if sponsored SAP candidates in civil prep receive an LOA or are they notified in a different way?

My MOC called me earlier this week and told me that I received the appointment from USMA. When will the official certificate be sent out and when will I see it on my portal telling me to check yes or no?

I got an LOA and received my BFE today and was able to accept it in my portal as well.

Go to the West Point Admissions page, scroll down just a little bit, not much. On the right side of the page, there should be a little section that says "Recent Posts by Others on West Point Admissions". Click the "See All" text by it, and you can see information posted by the Page about letters going out. A couple of times, it does hint at letters going out starting at the end of this month (January) and extending all the way out with the majority going out at the end of February or beginning of March. Cross your fingers and wait!

Decisions need to be made by May 1 if you receive the BFE correct? I have a prin to USMA but want to wait it out to see if I can get an appointment from air force or navy.

When my DS was at MMI the MOC called our house so mom actually got the call as MOC contact did not want to make a second call. BFE took about 2 weeks to arrive, then we had to mail it across country. When my DS picked it up from the MMI mailroom the nice lady had a big smile and said she had worked there a long time and was very familiar with that type of package

So I can't say for sure but it was not overnight or anything like that.

Not likely. Last year, offers had a 45 day suspense. So if you get an offer in mid-February, you have until about 1 April to decide. Your offer will specify that date. Don't be a Blue Falcon; there is someone else waiting anxiously for an offer that you would be sitting on. You need to figure out why you want Navy/Air Force more and consider withdrawing from WP so you can apply to them again next year if you are unsuccessful. If you are going just for the prestige of an Academy, you've made a poor choice.

If or when you get a BFE from West Point, contact Air Force and Navy and ask for a status. Not likely for Air Force or Navy to change their mind either way because you got a BFE from West Point.

I just got an e-mail from my congressman's office telling me that West Point notified them that I had recieved an appointment and it will be sent the 15th. I will call Air Force and Navy shortly after and figure out what's going on there. Stupid question, but say I send in my acceptance letters to WP, and then recieve an appointment to AF or Navy, could I rescind my acceptance to WP?
I would appreciate it if no one would tell me to get my priorities in line, as has been done countless times already, they are.
Thanks

Jay I am no expert, but I would think you can take the 45 days to make your decision. By then, with your calls to AF and N, maybe you will know something and be able to accept an offer from one of those without having to rescind the USMA offer. That is one reason they give you 45 days to make your decision - so you can make sure it is the right one FOR YOU.
And congrats on getting the appointment!

I do not know if USMA is similar to USNA in the acceptance timeline , but my DS's BFE (that he got in November) stated that he had until 01 MAY to decide and return his acceptance. I would wait to see the wording on your BFE before you call anyone .

I will do that. Thanks for the info.

Hey, just wondering if those of you that have received appointments could let the rest of us know. Where its from, what your stats were(ACT, GPA, etc.), and when you got it. Congrats on this achievement! Let's hope in the next few weeks more of us will join you! Thanks guys!
