From what you posted, it looks like your ACT score is not high enough for NWL (I am guessing). Any chance you could have gotten a bad school official evaluation? A bad school official evaluation can derail an appointment.

If you plan to apply next year, improve your SAT/ACT. Even if you are a college student, test scores are still important.

What is a competitive act score off the nwl? Also it seems really strange to me that one bad review could put you to the back of the list.

I had a bad evaluation but was emailed to get a new one. My AP Chem teacher didn't really like me so I was emailed to get a new one from my AP physics teacher (current class) who is one of my favorite teachers. That's the only thing I can think of.

That's really disappointing, You would think 3 good reviews would make up for a bad one, it's always a possibility you have a teacher that doesn't like you for many reasons that aren't your fault.

Um, no. There were some choices on who could evaluate you. Why on earth would you send an evaluation to someone you knew didn't like you? I have students I do not care for every year, but I do not give bad evaluations unless they deserve them...even then, I am totally honest (i.e. poor work habits, disruptive in class, etc). Mind you, these are for middle school activities, but it's the same principle. Again, contact the RC to see if this is fixable.

Not every teacher is so kind, yes I agree (s)he should have sent one to a teacher that liked him, but teachers are not all so kind to give a good review even if they are diligent in class. I have had teachers that are flat out bad people and some that are great people. Just depends on the person. I'm sure you may know one or two teachers that are just negative or hateful about everything as I have had many in my years.
Contacting the RC is solid advice, nice to have an opinion from a teacher!

I miss a lot of school for ski races and track meets (15+ days each year )and the teacher was fairly annoyed over two years especially in AP.
I have emailed my RC to see if anything is fixable and what went wrong.

Ask your teacher about it. If what you say is true I don't blame you at all.

Maybe I should go check the mail too! I live in AK, and have been getting hints from my FFR that a decision has been made on my packet, so maybe a BFE would have gone a bit farther to Alaska? Either way, congrats to your son!

Your right! Done, thank you guys so much. Everyone on this forum is so helpful, I don't believe I would have been accepted without the help of all you wonderful people. I extend my gratitude to all the staff (Kinnem, Buff, etc.) and everyone else who shares valuable insight (MemberLG, scoutpilot, etc.) for helping me, and all the other candidates, through the process. Many of us wouldn't get that BFE without your help!!!!!!

Now that I am excited I better start CBT PREP!!!
