First year is over already!

My DD is a MS1 nursing student in AROTC. Last lab is today (which is turning in equipment) and final PT tomorrow. She will be done with finals next Wednesday and we will move her home that evening.

This has already proven to be an incredible journey for both her and for her Dad and I! It has been nostalgic reading all the questions through the process of applications and making hard decisions from the high school seniors and their parents on this board this year as it was just a year ago we were doing the same. I am so grateful stumbling across this forum almost a year and a half ago and love the community here. And I am learning that the figuring out the path doesn't stop when they get to college, the questions keep adding up so I will not be going anywhere.

For those high school graduating seniors and parents, this will go fast so hold on. I don't really have a question or a point, just happy to be here and proud of my DD for navigating and successfully completing her first year! And slightly emotional that my two youngest will be graduating and leaving soon!
 
Hang on! It goes faster and faster! I can't believe it was nearly 2 years ago when DS commissioned. One good thing about college is we get four years to transition to their being gone....

Congratulations to him! That's too bad he won't have at least a few weeks to roam free, but he'll only be two days without a paycheck. Mine had about three months and logged about 6000 miles before reporting to BOLC.

What's his branch and first duty station?
 
5 years have passed in a blink. Seems like only yesterday DS was visiting potential campuses. I think I'm looking forward to Commissioning Ceremony more than Commencements! Sad...we won't have a good excuse to head to the west coast anymore.

Yes! As @AROTC-dad said, she is a nursing student and her scholarship is specifically for nursing. So unlike line sholarship recipients, she will branch in the Army Nurse Corp. This has been her dream since the 7th grade and it is hard to believe she is already one year through college! She will get her BSN and commission as an officer.
 
I want to add that @Dckc88 is one of the best subject matter experts on the Army ROTC nursing program.
We are lucky to have her!
