That’s what we were worried about! It don’t see any updates. We were hoping to find a chart to see the points for the number of sit ups completed. DD is going next Monday. My DD thought it was planks until she got to AIM and had to do sit ups. She retook the the PFE again in September and resubmitted her score with sit ups
Thank you!Definitely back to sit-ups. 2 minutes to do as many as you can. 1 point per sit-up. Max in 2 minutes is 100. Scoring is the same for men and women.
Thanks for this infofile:///C:/Users/SO0345/Downloads/pfe_manual.pdf
Here's the current manual.
Current cadets (4C) did sit-ups for their PFE at both the start and end of Swab Summer. I believe the CGA briefly transitioned to planks the year prior because of COVID and the administration wanting to minimize close contact (sit-ups are done with someone holding your feet). I could be wrong, but I don't think they are looking to transition back to planks. Pretty sure it was just a COVID accommodation. I'm sure current candidates could clarify with their AOs, however. If I'm not mistaken, CGA is transitioning from sit-ups to planks, so current cadets do planks for their PFE but applicants still do sit-ups (for this year).
Cadets are still doing sit-ups for the PFE. My DS did them for Swab Summer and 4/C PFE’s There are many pictures available on the “pduddy pics” Facebook page.If I'm not mistaken, CGA is transitioning from sit-ups to planks, so current cadets do planks for their PFE but applicants still do sit-ups (for this year).
Yes. It was a covid accommodation. I know other service academies have switched to planks because planks are supposed to be a better test of core strength. I asked at one of the Admissions Events and was told it was only due to covid. They are back to doing sit-ups since this past summer.Current cadets (4C) did sit-ups for their PFE at both the start and end of Swab Summer.
