Hey I want to get some people together to just talk academy stuff on Flashchat sometime over the weekend. What time would be good for everyone? (Be sure to indicate what time zone you are in. )

I should be free all weekend. I'm on Pacific Standard Time.

I'm at a big ski race til late saturday, but Sunday 12-3:30 works Central time zone

Are you skiing the Mesabi East race? I'm a skier too and have teammates that are going.

Woodbury/ Park (we have the same coach and train as a combined team). My coach only sends our elite skiers (those who go to the state meet every year), so I won't be going. I already skied two meets this week though, so I'm not complaining

Good luck on the races...be very careful...you don't want to lose an appt b/c you break something and become med dq:eek:

Make sure to through some salt over your shoulder for good luck

Oh, I'll be careful. My main worry right now is frostbite. Right now at the resort it is -13*F. brrrrrr! Good thing my coach is bringing vaseline for everyone's faces. It sounds silly, but it'll help prevent windburn.

As for getting medically DQed, slim chance in that. I'm a cross country skiier, so unless I get in an uber crash, I don't have a chance of getting hurt

Cross Country is boring skiing..... >.< just IMO

but Ill be on the chat tonight and sunday night, wait scratch that, 24 is on :D possibly saturday night as well

I think cross country skiing is more of a sport than anything else my school offers in the winter. The team is great, to. I'm gonna guess that you don't like running, either, then. I just zone out when I ski, which makes it sort of like meditation (a much needed part of my day, lol). I may have done alpine if only there were a few more mountains in MN :shake:

No running is fine, I play roller hockey, so I'd rather skate than run though. I alpine ski, thats why I said that :D

I laughed when I read this. I pictured a bunch of cross country skiers zoning out haha.

I don't know, those trees can be rather hard... (I happen to know from personal experience ). I've used the vasaline trick too, though it is a pain to get off your face afterward.

I got back last night. It wasn't as cold as I thought it'd be, but I went late in the day. No crashes, thank goodness. I'm happy with my time. 29th isn't that bad in a race of over 100
