I speak fluent Korean and I was wondering if this will be a reason why I might be assigned in Korea after graduating a service academy. I know that I can put in my options for deployment and If I put that I want Korea, will I get it??

Thanks

Unless West Point's first duty assignment selection process changed, your language proficiency will have no bearing on your first duty assignment. For my class, a long time ago, we got to pick our first duty assignment based on class rank. So #1 cadet of the branch picked what he wanted and so on.

Another thing you need to understand is that you will be a 2LT/leader first, than a translator if required/necessary. There are very few 2LT position that requires specific foreign language skill.

USNA also has no language requirement or preference for deployment. Paris Island is a long way from China. Needs of the Navy "government".
