Football season will be here before we know it and I’m asking seasoned parents/alumni how best to get tickets and generally make arrangements. Is there a block of tickets reserved for parents/friends of MIDS? If not, and we just get them through traditional channels, how do you know where the MIDS will be sitting – maybe affording a glance at DD as she plays in the DBC – or other USNA fans? I suppose this is really two questions: one for Memorial Stadium but more importantly for away games.

You buy tix through NAAA. The mids sit on the Blue Side, lower level, near the closed end of the stadium. Seats near the mids are nearly impossible to get -- they've typically been held by people for YEARs or go to VIPs.

In my day, mids (other than plebes, I believe) can get single game tix to sit with parents or others and these are located on the upper level directly above where the mids sit as a group. I believe this is still the case today. If I remember correctly, the mids are offered the opportunity to buy the tix -- obviously, you can reimburse them. Their "package" includes their own seat and the ones for their guest, so they can sit w/you. In my day, this wasn't an option for plebes.

If you want season tix, you'll prob get whatever the best available currently are. Chances are they will be Gold side ("visitor" side) across from the mids, probably upper level. If you want single game tix, I'm not sure where they will be located as I haven't bought those in years. It may depend on how many seats you want together -- the larger the number, probably the worse the seats.

If you buy season tix, you are offered the opportunity to buy tix for away games as part of the package. The seats are typically excellent -- better than at USNA. As for only single game away tix (i.e., not part of a season tix package) -- again, through NAAA.

I suggest you check out the NAAA website -- it has lots of good info on tix.

We have successfully obtained tickets for games at USNA through stubhub. On a "look see" visit when son was a jr in high school, he and I got tickets and sat with the class of '62. We had a great day with those people. Husband and I got good seats on the mid's side last year through the same channels.

If you're only going to be around for one or two games just have your mid walk over to the ticket office and buy them, it's just in rickets hall, plus I think in my day they were cheaper that way.

What about tix for Army-Navy game on Dec 11??

Should we go ahead and get tickets for the Army-Navy game now/ASAP? or can we get them through our plebe son somehow? Which way will get you better seats?

As plebe parents, you will get a letter inviting you to purchase Army/Navy tickets. Not sure how you get better seats. They will ask you on the form if you belong to a Parents Club. I think they try to put the parents clubs together. Tickets will be mailed out a few weeks before the game. We liked our seats. We were right above our son's company. He was guidon that year, so it was easy to see him. It was a great experience. We hope to go again while son is a mid.

Army-Navy Game looks like it's in Phillie - do you know if we will be able to spend any time with our Plebe before or after the game.

Or do they whisk them away as soon as it's over?

Thanks

It changes from year to year but assuming their not on duty they can ussally spend time after the game with family or whoever.

You can purchase football tickets through navysports.com. You can also become a Blue and Gold member by making a donation and depending on the level of the donation, you are offered different A/N ticket options.

Also, during football season, there's a ticket exchange on navysports.com where you can pickup/buy tickets.

I purchased Army/Navy tickets through the offer made to plebe parents for the 2009 game and was disappointed with how high a level the seats were in the stadium. I understand that I am the newbie and have to pay my ticket dues but it was so far away that it was hard to concentrate on the game.
