We are debating whether to purchase football season tickets. Any opinions on whether it’s worth it? Is it pretty easy to get single game tix otherwise? Is it easy to get rid of tickets to games we may not be able to attend?

Are you buying tickets to spend more time with your plebe? They have a few hours of town liberty after the game, and none on Sunday. There may be a company or ECA or team tailgater they are expected to attend after the game. During the game, they are in a duty status and sit with the Brigade. They may be in the duty section that weekend and have to head straight back to Bancroft after the game.

Of course, I enjoy Navy football - something comfortable and reliable about the flyover, the anthem, the Brigade, the D& B, the goats, the tailgaters. You can weigh the pros and cons of what you want out of the experience. Are you local? Or would you have to book a room? Every home football weekend is a reunion weekend, therefore local hotels are heavily booked and their rates at season highs.

I recommend talking with parents in your area USNA Parents Club to get insights.

Buying single game tickets is usually not a problem, unless it’s N-AF or other high-interest game.

Single tickets to the Nov 12 NAVY-Notre Dame at Baltimore M&T may be hard to get.

Thank you so much for all the info! We are not local, I will definitely plan to get involved in the Parents Club.

We have never had a problem getting single tickets. Either through USNA, the parent resale Facebook pages, company pages, or actual resale groups. In fact, the first one I purchased from another mom, came with the perk of free parking, and she is also now my good friend!! We have purchased N-AF games this way. And your Mid will get an opportunity to purchase BEAT ARMY tickets as well. The trick there is that they see the email…which mine did, but others didn’t.

We are from out of town and never know if we will attend or not, so no season tickets purchased. But again, have never had an issue.

It’s such a great time. Go as often as you are able!

You can usually get single game tickets for the "less popular" games (non-USAFA, non-USMA, non-homecoming) even on game day. You can even get single game tickets for the popular games, but it will cost you a lot. :)

Getting "rid" of tickets also depends on the popularity of the game. Some you can sell super-quick (USNA has a process for you to sell unused tickets). Some you can't give away (seriously).

If you plan to attend most of the home games, season tickets are probably worth it. If you want to come once or twice (and especially if you're not picky about which games you attend), then doing it game by game makes more sense.

I don't think so.
It’s not big enough to have nosebleed seats. Big Jumbotrons at either end.

I sit on the Blue side Upper, above the Brigade (Lower Blue), because I enjoy watching the Navy end zone, goats, plebes, D&B, etc., which means the other end zone is farther away. Gold side gets sun the longest, great in late season, hot in early season.

There are 4 major areas of seats. Lower Blue (Navy) side. Upper Blue. Lower Gold (visitor). Upper Gold. End zone.

Lower Blue is virtually impossible to get. Currently (this may change) the brigade takes up about half of those seats. The others are held by long-time season-ticket holders, VIP seats, seats for recruiting visits, etc. Occasionally, people who aren't attending the game will make their seats available on StubHub or elsewhere.

Lots of folks like Upper Blue for the reasons Capt MJ states.

Most of the Gold section is actually Navy (the visitor fans are usually together in small sections on the lower edges). You can watch the brigade since you're across from them. It can be brutal early in the season (bring your sunglasses and sunscreen) but much better in the colder months, when most of the Blue side is in the shade all game.

The end zone (the end where there is still some grass) is favored by families with kids since the kids like to slide down the hill and run around on the grass. For watching football, it's great when the play is at that end zone but not so great the rest of the time.

The stadium isn't all that big, so no terrible seats. One thing to keep in mind is that parking at the stadium is very limited. You must have a pass and preference goes to season ticket holders. There is parking available at nearby schools (with shuttle) and lots of locals rent out their yards.

Looking for advice - I see the options - what’s the most popular option - I’m thinking I could use anywhere between 2-6 tickets for the army navy game …..

Navy Athletics will be well represented at IDay- go find them and they will gladly advise (and take your money ) ;)

I may have an extra ticket for the Notre Dame game Saturday in Baltimore. Message me Friday if you need one.
