all i can say is if that was me, I would be grinning ear to ear becaue i would be there!

swab summer has its ways of turning grins upside down.....

yeah, but i'm a little strange in a way that i get a kick out of things like that

so does reveille at 530 every morning acommpanied with banging on doors and metal fans. starting your morning by running as fast as possible to the bulkhead while being yelled at does not make for a good start to the day:smile:

All I know is that I already get up every day at 6 am, with the bother of a little sister and yelling of a mother to come and eat to hurry up and go to morning mass.... for the last .... 12 years of my life (cept. a Sunday here and there) while running around 5 miles in the afternoon at practice or home since 9th grade.... so whats getting up 1/2 hour more and running in the morn?

Yeah, it seems that way now. It's not going to seem so fun when you get there. Take it from a cadet that's been through his own school's 'plebe system'. Be prepared for it to be awful. Then you might just get lucky.

I was only at USCGA for a week (and AIM at that...) and let me just say that waking up to screaming -- not the "come on, time to get up!" screaming, more like "GET OUT OF BED NOW WE ARE WAITING ON YOU GET ON MY BULKHEAD DO YOU THINK YOU ARE AT HOME STAND AT ATTENTION" screaming -- at 0530 right on the dot every morning was not the brightest way to start my day! I don't look forward to that part again, let alone for 7 weeks! I assume it's a little less "confrontational" during the school year?

set your alarm to 5:25am - that's what my daughter does!

actually - they give them 5 hours of homework and only 4 hours to do it so she is up at 4:30 doing homework many mornings at MMI...

During Swab Summer you will not have a watch or alarm clock. The alarm will be six platoon cadre waking you up in a very unenjoyable way. And that's how you start the day...it may be the high point.

There are no comfortable mornings for atleast 7 weeks. If it's quiet...be worried.
