For Those of Us Still Waiting C/O 2025

So I am a LEAD program candidate and I still have not received a TWE or an appointment of any kind. I noticed in the handbooks 15APR was the prep school deadline and 01MAY is the deadline for direct appointments.
Would I still have a shot or is it likely that I will receive a TWE 21APR?

Still haven’t heard anything. What do I do now?
My son is in the same situation. We are finalizing Plan B for colleges and making plans that way. I would say the odds of an appointment are fairly low at this point, but there is still a chance I guess.

My son was asking if he should reach out to admissions or his ALO and see what’s going on and I didn’t know what to tell him. From what I gather, there are 4 possibilities the prep school, a falcon foundation offer, an appointment or a TWE.

From what I have read on here the prep school and falcon foundation are usually for people who need some academic polishing. I don’t know if my son necessarily falls into that category. He’d definitely be grateful for an opportunity at either the USAFA prep or the Falcon Foundation Scholarship schools, but the TWE is the most likely scenario.

It’s hard to be in limbo even longer. I never thought we would not know where he was going to college mid to late April of his senior year of school. We are working on the details of where he wants to apply his Type 7 AFROTC scholarship and then we can make a final school selection this week hopefully. We are waiting to hear if a particular school will waive the out of state tuition for him.

I think it is fair to say that MOST appointments have been made but NOT ALL. If you still don't have a TWE then you are still in the game for one of the few remaining spots. The big wave of TWE's was last week so for those that are left, you are still under consideration. Some of you may stay this way until after May 1 when others have to commit to accept or decline their appointment. Keep working on Plan B as if it were Plan A but don't give up yet!

The wait is over for us. DS rec’d a portal update today with a TWE. He’s excited to start his AFROTC journey at a still to be determined university. We are still waiting to hear if a school will waive his out of state tuition (they only do that for a certain number of cadets, not everyone). If that doesn’t pan out then he will be doing AFROTC at the detachment that I was at 25 years ago. Kinda crazy.

Did anyone else not hear back? This waiting game is stressful but getting easier lol
I still haven't heard either. My portal still shows Candidate. Im assuming we won't hear anything until after May 1st when appointees accept/decline. Im prepping to go with my plan B. So unless I get my appointment from usafa I'll be using my type 1 rotc scholarship at St Joes in philly

Reposting this in a slightly different version. Last year, several of us also referred to this limbo status as being bubble-sitters. Everyone who has received a TWE at this point knows where they're not going to be come June 24th.

This waiting time on the bubble is harder, because you just want to know something with a level of certainty. USAFA wants to fill the class too. You're on the bubble now because USAFA is waiting for answers to previously made offers or for them to expire. You're in a group of candidates they like. There are a finite number of slots, they want to fill them all, hopefully you'll see the offer in your portal soon. Remember the same four possibilities currently exist that existed once you became a 3Q candidate - an appointment, USAFAPS, FFS or TWE. One of these will show up no later than June 22nd or 23rd.

Keep in mind just being here is a testament to you being an excellent candidate. You've demonstrated the work ethic, leadership, interview/personal skills and perseverance to have come this far. No matter the result, you have great things ahead in your life. You're in a good spot, you just have to wait a little longer, and yes that is disappointing. Continue to work on plans B,C,D, etc. and check portal every couple of days. You'll be off the bubble soon enough. Good luck!

What was your mile time?
Eight minutes flat. It was the worst mile I've done before, but it was in the middle of a snow storm on a track covered in snow. I wasn't able to reschedule due to Covid and I was running out of time to submit everything. It also didn't help that I chugged a bottle of water right after the push ups and immediately puked, which tore up my diaphragm and made breathing difficult.

My DS had waiver appeal denied in February. Game over. He started working on plan B. Two months pass. He accepted an offer at university and had just signed up for housing when he got an email saying that is waiver decision was being overturned. In the meantime, he gave up interview for senatorial nomination because his journey was over and he felt the offer should go to someone still in the game. He has one nomination but it may not be enough at this late stage.

Oh goodness, that sounds terrible...

Still no twe on my end, when will I find out?
You're still on the bubble. Think of it as being on the reserve list for appointment offers. May 1st, yesterday was college decision day, next we'll see USAFA admissions looking to complete rounding out this year's class after dropping all those who were offered appointments and didn't accept by the deadline. They'll determine how many new appointments can be offered and who on the reserve list (bubble-sitters) meets their goals. The same possible outcomes exist as listed in post #170. Most likely, bubble-sitters will hear something in the next week. Several members on here (DS included) were notified of an appointment or FFS offer on Mother's Day morning last year. Keep working on plans B,C,D. The wait is almost over, it's harder on the bubble, but that's just human nature. Good luck!

Just got my TWE today. Been a long 6 months of waiting, and not the result I wanted, but I’ll just try again next year. Been stalking this forum the last couple months so thanks to everyone for all the info you’ve posted. Best of luck to the c/o 25
Sorry to hear @Hawgflier. Great attitude! Work hard in AFROTC and re-submit for next year.
