For those of you still waiting...

Last year, my DS received a TWE in early April and a telephone call mid-May with a Falcon Scholarship offer. So with a Falcon Scholarship, it is not always a quick turnaround and it is not always just a letter.
 
USAFA Portal update

I think the portals were updated in the hour or so as I checked earlier and nothing. I checked just now and my daughter's status has "Offered USAFA Prep School."
 
hmmm.....

It seems today's portal updates were offers for the Prep school. I'm not sure what this means for those who remain Candidates.

Admissions posted the following on Twitter a few hours ago:

"#USAFA Hopefuls-check your portals 07 April for direct entry inquires."

I wonder if remaining appointments will be released Monday or is this simply when we should expect non-select notices??

Possibly wait list announcements and/or rejections? Seems like that time has come around
 
Honestly, I'm feeling this is the end of the road for me...

But that is fine by me, I'm going to a great engineering school (University of Central Florida) with a type 7 AFROTC scholarship. I'll study civil engineering and thoroughly enjoy college!

AFA was never my dream; becoming a USAF officer is...AFA would have been a great path, but so is AFROTC!

While they didn't graduate from AFROTC, these great military leaders did do ROTC, and they turned out fine: General James Amos and General Colin Powell! AND Plenty of great AF leaders didn't go to the Academy either!

Many congrats to those who have been appointed, but to all those in the same odd candidate situation as myself? We'll do great in AFROTC!

Where did you see this? I just checked USAFA Admissions on twitter and didn't see anything. Just want to make sure I'm following the right account :)

Still nothing- DS is proceeding with the decision on plan b and we are fine ---I am just surprised at the timing a very late decision. DS had a horrible injury last summer but a great outcome from surgery and rehab. His waiver took a long time so I feel that has something to do with the wait. Hope all of u have heard by now. I have enjoyed reading the board during the year.
 
Hi all, I applied to Air Force in early November and I was recruited for athletics. The coach at Air Force said my academics were not good enough to get in Direct but that he would have a prep slot for me in the prep school. I was just wondering if that is why I am still waiting to hear.... When do you think it will be until I get notice from the Academy. I know most letters will be out by the 15th of April, but does that include me too? Or is it different because the coach has a prep slot for me... Any information would help! Thanks

DS has not heard. I guess it is you two. What does it say at the bottom of you app? DS's says released 4/8. That does not sound so great.:smile:

DS has not heard either. I feel like it is bad news but the longer he does not heàr the tougher it will be I think.Maybe no news is really good news.

And the wait continues.....my DD didn't ask about the mail today. I think she figures I will let her know if any BFE or TWE arrives. 1st day of spring break and DD is occupied with a book she has been wanting to read. Trying hard to not think about the wait. Hope tomorrow brings good news.:smile::smile::smile::smile:

According to admissions, the date at the bottom of the portal is the release date of their software updates. has nothing to do with candidates.

You should talk directly to the coach. S/He would have the most reliable information. Best wishes. :thumb:
 
We are hoping the board is having positive thoughts today with DD in mind. Keeping fingers crossed.....phone call Friday????

Soccermom, Did you hear something about Friday or is that just a day a lot of portals were updated in the past?
